Ultra Electronics Announces Delivery of Sizable HyperShield Order

COLUMBIA CITY, Indiana - Ultra Electronics USSI is pleased to announce the delivery of a significant HyperShield order for crowd control communications.

The HyperShield combines the authority of acoustic hailing devices with the ruggedness of carbon fiber to create a shield that can take control and take punishment. The integrated acoustic hailer is capable of 140 dB for background-noise piercing tones and clearly audible commands, even in the most chaotic situation. The HyperShield is capable of being integrated with gas masks and other law enforcement equipment.

“We are confident that the HyperShield will help keep people safe,” commented Thomas Link, Vice President of Audio Products, “both the crowd and the officers enforcing lawful order. The shield will allow situation commanders to communicate and relay messages previously lost, ‘in the crowd.’”

The HyperShields were specifically requested by the customer and are expected to be deployed in 2012 and beyond. Previous users include SWAT teams, corrections enforcement officers, and militaries.
